THE WRITERS LOUNGE PRESENTS: RITA BOZI

    in Writing

Join host Tom Riddell and co-host Teri Brown as they welcome author Rita Bozi to The Writers Lounge. Sit back and relax as Rita discusses what it's like to be a writer and she will also talk to us about her book: When I Was Better
When I Was Better looks at the embattled relationship between István and Teréza during the Nazi invasion and Soviet occupation of Hungary in 1956. István is forced to leave his wife and infant son in Hungary during the time that the invaders have crushed the Hungarian Revolution. István finally makes it to Canada where he endeavors to start a new life and to hopefully wait for a future reunion with his wife and son. Teréza is left to endure the trauma of war in an occupied country and has to keep secrets amid the weight of humiliation, shame, isolation and violent acts against her. Through letters and faith, the couple struggles to maintain their relationship through the years, all the while, holding out hope that they will someday be reunited.
This novel highlights a refugee crisis and it shows how an autocracy can corrupt its citizens into compliance. It also allows us to see how after over sixty years, we are still at danger of being ruled and having our families ripped apart.
    Join us and...
    LET THE STORY BEGIN!

    in Poetry

Welcome to Headliner's Ball. This show's format gives both authors and audience alike the chance to entertain a deeper discussion regarding a choice selection of poems from the author's catalog of work. Headliners will perform pieces in their intended style. In turn, they will receive encouraging feedback from an all-inclusive panel of Late Night Poet callers. Additionally, there will be a chance for listeners to inquire about intended meaning, inspiration, nuance, poetic device, and any other interesting details that the author is willing to expand upon. Authors will also have an opportunity to familiarize their fan base with any publications available for purchase for those readers wanting to support them. If you have ever desired some time to virtually interact with a fellow poet on a deeper level, then this show was designed for you. Cannonball into the deep end with this positive group of poetry lovers, but please remember to pack a modest bathing suit; this might be a late night show but our lifeguards have no patience for any flopping about from any of you crazy skinny dippers.

"Bramble Rambles" Author Bob Ford Appears on the Sunbury Press Books Show!

    in Books

The author of the multi-volume "Beagle Tales" series, Bob Ford returns with a new collection, "Bramble Rambles." Reflections made while exercising his hounds in the fields of Northern Pennsylvania, Pastor Ford has put these into a form of conversation starters for faith-based dialogue, but are not meant to achieve dogmatic answers.
These rambles originally appeared in social media posts to provide a positive message in a medium that is often negative. The popularity of these posts has brought them into book form.
An avid outdoorsman, Bob and his wife Renee both serve as pastors. Bob has been in parish ministry since 1996 in Ohio and Tioga and Clearfield Counties in Pennsylvania, the latter of which he currently serves. Bob is also the author of "Rabbit Stew for Your Soul," a collection of original recipes.
