Monica Maxwell is entering her 11th year as an Athletic Administrator. Currently, she is Director of Athletics for Indianapolis Arsenal Tech High School. Prior to this role, she worked at her alma mater, East Chicago Central High School (IN). She also served as Athletic Director at Guion Creek Middle School in Pike Township and was Manager of Events and Membership for Advocates for Athletic Equity (AAE). Prior to joining AAE, she was a DVSport Technician for Women’s Basketball at Vanderbilt University (2014-2015 season).

A 1999 graduate of Louisiana Tech University (La. Tech), she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems and went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Physical Education/Athletic Administration from Indiana University and a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Dayton.

Holding the distinction of Certifed Master Athletic Administrator (CMAA), Monica is a very active member of the NIAAA and the IIAAA, currently serving as the organization's 2nd Vice President. 

Maxwell was a standout basketball player at La. Tech, earning trips to two Final Fours and playing for the National Championship in 1998. After college, she played four years in the WNBA, spending her rookie campaign with the Washington Mystics before finishing her career with the Indiana Fever. She has coached basketball at Pike High School (IN), Tulane University, and California State University- Northridge.
