S3-E39 SEASON FINALE! 2022 - Slavery Abolished in 4 States!

    in Education

The 2022 journey for slavery abolition and the 3rd season of Abolition Today has reached its amazing conclusion. In an epic and historic election, 4 out 5 states overwhelmingly voted to abolish slavery from their state constitutions! INCLUDING Deep South States like Alabama and Tennessee. In concert with the Abolish Slavery National Network, #TheFreedom5 was a massive success. The only state to fail in passing their slavery abolition amendment was Louisiana. The state has now become the laughing stock of late night talk shows. People are being advised not to go to LA as you may end up being enslaved.  Everyone has serious questions. Why?  On November 13th we'll hear from the person who was solely responsible for this outcome. The Sponsor of HB298 Representative Edmond Jordan of Louisiana. In his own words, live on the Abolition Today Season III Finale'.  We'll have an adult conversation and ask the hard questions. You do not want to miss the S3 final episode! Of course we'll bring it all together with amazing music presentations and Bridge The Gap one final time for 2022 by bringing the ancestors words back to life for a new generation. We'll be airing previous episodes during our absence until our return on New Years Day 2023.

The 5 Obligations to Build Ummah: "The Self" (Part 4)

    in Education

4:1 O mankind, fear your Lord, who created you from one soul and created from it its mate and dispersed from both of them many men and women. And fear Allah, through whom you ask one another, and the wombs. Indeed Allah is ever, over you, an Observer.
    Narrated Abu Hurairah:
"They said: 'O Messenger of Allah (?)! When was the Prophethood established for you?' He said: 'While Adam was between (being) soul and body.'"

Another Fork in the Road: Panel - Coping with Memory Loss After Brain Injury

    in Education

With brain injury comes many debilitating issues. Memory loss is one of them. Can you imagine forgetting who you are or who your friends and family members are? What about forgetting your doctor's appointment, where you put your keys or forgetting to turn off the stove? Losing the ability to remember comes with many consequences. My panelists will talk about how memory loss has affected them after brain Injury.
Every TBI survivor and caregiver has encountered a fork in the road that has diverted his or her life plan. A car accident, a fall from the roof, doing one more chin-up, or a door literally slamming one in the face are just some causes of traumatic brain injury. College plans, walking down the aisle in the perfect dress, or the coveted job quickly slip from reality as dreams turn to struggle. These unexpected life happenings that divert one from his or her chosen path in life can be devastating. But as Yogi Berra once said, "If you come to a fork in the road, take it." Life is all about choices! To learn more about me, please visit my blog and website.
