Let's Talk About Child Support
On today's show, we talk about child support with Favio Verdugo of Division of Child Support Services. The idea behind child support is that the children of divorced or separated parents should live as comfortably as they would have if their parents had stayed together. Most states calculate child support by adding together both parents’ incomes, then setting aside a percentage of the total for their children’s needs. The law surrounding the spending of child support can be complicated. Plus, the facts of each case are unique. This interview provides a brief, general introduction to the topic.

Pulling Back the Curtain on Imposters within the Animal Welfare Community.
in Pets
Greetings:
On a weekly basis I am seeing with my own eyes how the animal welfare industry is in turmoil. I am not talking about the companies that provide the necessities for our pets to thrive, the food industry, the pharmaceuticals needed to treat our pets, nor the other companies that are truly in it for our 4 legged loved ones, but those that are suppose to protect the animals.
The amount of animal neglect, abuse & cruelty charges we are seeing among these rogue rescues is downright frightening. The question I have is who are these people that portray themselves as rescuers? What type of background do they come from? Often times whistleblowers come to me and share their stories on how the "rescue" they are fostering for deny them the proper care for a dog or cat in need of medical attention. As donations increase with the fundraiser meant for that animal, why is the foster being denied taking the animal to a vet? Often times the rogue rescue will state they have no money. The question people need to ask is where is the money that is raised for that particular dog or cat really going? Join my guests and I on what imposters we will be pulling the curtain back on. Click on this link to listen in live,
Date: June 14 Wednesday 9am-12noon, PST, 10am-12noon, MT, 11am-1pm, CST, 12noon-2pm, EST.

Kids and Cars
On today's show we discuss Kids and Cars with Dawn Peabody. Every day, children are left unattended in or around vehicles – a danger most people greatly underestimate. Hyperthermia, power window strangulations, and low-speed high severity crush injuries like backovers and frontovers typify what happens when children are left alone in or around motor vehicles on private property. This emerging public health issue causes death and injury due to the dangerous social practice of leaving children unattended in or around vehicles.

About Family
Like the TV show, modern families come in all shapes and sizes. Many children are a product of divorce, are in touch with both their biological and adopted parents, have two moms or two dads (or both), or are being raised by their grandparents. No matter how atypical the face of today's family, the values stay the same: love and support. Moms and dads will find plenty of support in BlogTalkRadio's parenting shows, especially those about time-management topics that fit both stay-at-home and working parents: organizing kids' activity schedules, decluttering, reducing the workweek, managing stress, making quick meals and more. We've also got shows about friendship – you know, your family of choice rather than family of origin. Just remember: everyone's family seems dysfunctional in its own way. And family may irritate you, but more often than not, you can always count on family to pick you up from the airport.
